Maria is passionate about following Jesus wherever He takes her. This deep level of surrender has resulted in Maria’s life looking radically different than the life plans she made. Maria calls herself a precious jewels mamma, as she passionately believes children are sacred gifts from God. Maria and her husband Sam have nine beautiful and diverse precious jewels, seven through adoption and two born biologically. Maria so believes in the value of children that she has devoted the past 22 years to working with children from hard places, currently working as an inner city school counselor. Maria has an MSW from Rutgers University in New Jersey and a BA in Psychology from Trinity Western University in British Columbia Canada. Maria is passionate about many things including living the surrendered life, diversity, adoption special needs, and parenting. Maria is excited about this unexpected new thing God is doing in her life through her writing. Maria and her family live in the beautiful Phoenix area where they consider it an enormous blessing to be a part of Hillsong Church Phoenix.
