Our LAST few steps to bring Kody HOME!!!

This is what happens NOW that we have passed court (yipppeee, PRAISE GOD)…
*
*******************
*
We wait for the death certificate (PLEASE PRAY FOR THIS) ...
We wait for the adoption decree to be issued by the Ghana government (1-3 weeks) ...
*
***********************
*
Once we have BOTH of these documents, WE LEAVE FOR AFRICA ...
*
*******************
*
Today we had our yellow fever vaccination NEEDED to enter Ghana, and it is effective 10 days from today (nope, I don't think we'll travel 10 days from today ... but then again you never know :))
*
*************************
*
When we get to Africa, we will IMMEDIATELY file the I600 ... a US immigration document that allows us to bring Kody HOME! It will take 2-8 weeks for this document to be processed!!
*
***********************
*
After we receive this approval for the I600, we apply for and receive Kody's visa ... this will take about 1-2 weeks or more!
*
**********************
*
Although we could be making only one trip (as we could be filing the I600 in the US) most parents at this time are choosing to file the I600 in Ghana as filing in the US adds time which means it would take longer to bring Kody home! We feel like God is saying that we need to do whatever is within our control to bring Kody home! We also feel like Kody is so little and that any time we have with him is truly a gift and so precious ... and will hugely help with the attachment process that lies ahead!
*
**************************
*
We are thinking our 1st trip will be about 5-7 days in length, as we also need to travel up North to meet Kody's extended biological family! The 2nd trip I (Maria) will make myself and it will be 2-3 days in length ....

Your prayers are appreciated for the rest of our adoption paperchase and journey!
