National Adoption Day!!!

What an exciting day last Friday was ...

It was NATIONAL ADOPTION DAY & we went to court to re-adopt Kody & Faith!
YIPPEEE, Kody is now a US CITIZEN!!!!!!

What added to this special day was that 12 other families joined us in court to re-adopt their (internationally adopted or foster) children! The WHOLE event was organized by a GROUP of people, one of who was our dear friend Carrie! Afterwards there was a CELEBRATION at the court house, with treats, cake, and gifts for all of us the adoptive families! It was AWESOME! THANK YOU Carrie for everything you did to make this day SO SPECIAL and SUCH A HUGE SUCCESS!!!
And somehow this special day continued the next day ... as somehow Sam, Kody & I ended up on the front page of the larger newspaper in our county .. kind of fun for the kids to walk down our little downtown and see mommy & daddy in all of the newspaper stands (there are quite a few)!!
Grandma made it for the special day ... she was actually coming to help us as November was very busy as I was away quite a bit, so she came to help Sam with the kids that were home! Sam's mom is the kind of grandma that rolls around on the floor with the kids, makes up a game like kissing shark to play at the playground, goes down huge water slides, reads endless stories, sings songs with them, makes cookies with and for them ... and the list goes on! THANK YOU Grandma Jane! It is a JOY and PURE GIFT to watch you be GRANDMA to our kids, they all sure do adore you ... what an awesome ministry you have being GRANDMA!!!!

The first picture was taken as we were waiting to go in for court ... I could go on and on about this picture! I lOVE THIS PICTURE!! The fact that our Faith came up on her own initiative and asked me "mommy, I want a kiss," is astronomically AWESOME & HUGE!!!!! This is not because our Faith is not completely sweet and loving ... SHE IS! It is because of what she has lived through ... it is because of how during the last 2 1/2 years she has had to LEARN HOW to show physical affection ... as a result of her first 3 years of living in an institutionalized orphanage! Much more could be said ...
