A close girl friend of mine was sharing with someone that we were adopting again and shared this short story with me! A couple of minutes after sharing our news, the person perplexly asked, "They must be rich? Do they have a lot of money?"
This story made me CHUCKLE, yep I did laugh out loud when my friend shared it! Sooo I thought I would clear the air! In the way that the other person meant it, we are not rich! We are a middle class working AVERAGE North American family, living in a middle class neighborhood! We shop at garage sales, second hand stores, the clearance rack, and we use coupons! Let me clarify, we have very minimal savings, so minimal that EACH time we have adopted we have absolutely NO CLUE how we were going to pay for the adoption fees/costs!!
Each time we have made the decision to adopt we have had NO PLAN! Well that is not entirely true either!! We have had a plan, we have TRUSTED OUR CREATOR to provide EVERY SINGLE TIME! And every single time HE HAS! Sometimes it has been through us taking out a loan, and sometimes it has been through the giving of others!
However, in comparison with MOST OF THE WORLD and according to God's standards I believe that we are filthy rich! We are! We are! We are! I could write a novel about the wealth I have been blessed with! But the following provides a quick illustration!
Am I Rich?
· Got $2200? In this world, you’re rich. Assets (not cash) of $2200 per adult place a person in the top 50% of the world’s wealthiest.*

This picture was taken within the last couple of months in Haiti! A couple of girlfriends went on a mission trip there! The picture is literal HEART BREAK, I actually can't quite comprehend the level of poverty evident in the picture in the life of this precious little jewel! OH MY HEART! Soooo okay we are RICH, actually SO WEALTHY, just not the way that the other person meant it! THANK YOU JESUS for our wealth that you have blessed us with! THANK YOU JESUS for providing for ALL of our needs and sooooo much more! HELP ME dear Lord to be your HANDS and FEET to whoever you want me to be!!!
