Squeals!!

If you were a fly on the wall in our house, you would HEAR an endless amount of squeals on any given day, almost at any time of day.  Did I mention that you would be hearing squeals of pure JOY and laughter (okay, admittedly you might hear some sounds that would be the opposite of joyous squeals.  But back to the squeals).

Most of the squeals would be coming from our SWEET and CURIOUS little Jase.
He squeals at the sight of me, how humbling ... his mom.
He squeals at the sight of his dad.
He squeals at the sight of a plate loaded with food.
He squeals at the sight of a crayon and a blank piece of paper.
He squeals at the sight of his stuffed elephant (which I brought to China to bring him home, and seems to have worked well as a transition object).
He squeals at the sight of mommy's bike (that has a bike seat on the back for him to ride).
He squeals at the sight of toys.
He squeals when it is time to get up in the morning ...
He squeals literally all the time!  He is such a HAPPY little guy!

We got together with family on Sunday and a someone new was there, and my dad was telling them that Jase has only been home for one month.  Sam and I both kind of looked at each other in total surprise, really only a month.  In actuality Jase has been home for 6 weeks ... 1.5 months ... that is IT!!!  We talked a lot about this on the way home from being with family (while Jase and all the other kids crashed on the car ride home).  It does not FEEL that way to either one of us.  It honestly feels like we've had him since he was a tiny baby, that is how connected our hearts feel to him.  Aside from him still learning english (and that his palette keeps him from making proper sounds), he honstly feels like he has always been here.

What a GIFT to our mamma and dadda hearts.
We have walked this amazing and miraclous adoption journey before and are both so aware of how often attachment takes months and months ... and actually sometimes years (for parents to be equally attached to their newly adopted child).

THANK YOU JESUS for the gift of Jase!

Love it! Today I was just grumbling about the lack of "non-noise" in our home. Thanks for helping ut joyous noise in perspective for this tired mama. :)
