11 years ago in Jiangxi China, which happens to be way on the other side of the world, the most wonderful thing happened. On that morning, the staff of one of the local orphanages found a box that contained one of the most precious gifts ever to be given to this world. Inside the box was the most precious and beautiful baby girl, with big brown eyes, and a little bit of brown hair.
The staff that found her had NO idea of the great plans that would unfold to be this precious girl's life. Only the God of the Universe knew the details, and although He was broken hearted over what was taking place as it so grieved His heart that this little angel's birth family could not take care of her, He held with joy to the plans He had for this special little being.
He knew her life would not be easy, and that it would be filled with obstacles that would be too many for some. Although the bundle was just a baby, He knew that one day she would be a girl. And He knew every detail about this precious girl, and He knew that she was like none other. He knew that she was an over-comer. He knew that she was a fighter. He knew that she could, with His help, overcome the obstacles what would define the early part of her growing up years.
He didn't see her through the things she would overcome, but He saw her with the gifts that He was anointing her with: a love relationship with Himself, a love for other people, a genuine heart to help others, a passion for life, a faith like none other, and a determination to match it. He celebrated with the angels on that day -- as He knew that the little being who He had created was a miracle and was one of the most precious gifts He would ever give the world.
He watched over her during the first three years of her life, as she grew and grew, in an environment that was never meant to be for children. He allowed it though, because He knew the plans that He had for her -- to one day be a part of a family. He was very aware of the family He was choosing for her, as it happened to be a very imperfect family with very imperfect parents. Yet he knew their hearts and He knew they loved Him, and He knew that one day they would love this baby girl. They just didn't know it yet, and wouldn't know it for several years. They didn't know and wouldn't know for years, that their little girl, the one He was watching over, would be one of the best gifts He would ever give them.
It is now 11 years later from that morning in China, when the orphanage worker's heard that precious baby girl's cry. It is 11 years later of when they opened up that box, and saw one of the most beautiful set of brown eyes they would ever see. It is 11 years later, and my Father was right -- my daughter who was that bundle of joy in Jiangxi China is one of the BEST presents He has ever given me. She is so incredibly thoughtful, has an incredibly tender hearts, works harder than anyone I know, is so in love with Jesus, has an incredibly quick to forgive heart, has passion like nobody's business, is so genuinely generous, looks out for her mamma, and is one of her mamma's very own super heroes. Plus she loves to play basketball, play soccer, swim, mountain bike, ski, hike, run, do gymnastics, play phase 10, do crafts, write books, read, get everything right on her math test ...
Happy 11th Birthday to one of my very own sacred gifts from my Heavenly Father!!! I love you Faithie, always!! Thank you for who you are!! Thank you for every day making my life better!!
P.S. PTL Faith changed her mind and asked her mamma to make a "cross cake" instead of a Chinese dragon cake which she had originally asked for after watching Cake Boss ;)
